The NFL has a problem with the Pro Bowl as fans don't tune in to watch what is called a game with all of the NFL's biggest stars sharing the field. Part of that issue may be that we don't actually see the best players in the NFL in the game as its become a popularity contest. Arguably the biggest snub of the Pro Bowl is Brian Thomas Jr not being selected as Ja'Marr Chase, Nico Collins, Jerry Jeudy, and Zay Flowers were chose in the AFC.
No one will take issue with the selection of Ja'Marr Chase as he leads the NFL in catches, yards, and touchdowns but, Brian Thomas Jr has better numbers than Jerry Jeudy and Zay Flowers.
On the season Brian Thomas Jr has caught 80 passes for 1,179 yards and ten touchdowns ranking 5th in yards and touchdowns in the league. Jerry Jeudy has dealt with the same bad quarterback play that Thomas has had but, ranks 6th in yards with 1,166 yards and 4 touchdowns which ranks 59th. Zay Flowers has played with an MVP Candidate in Lamar Jackson yet, has 1,047 and just 4 touchdowns on 73 catches. Collins has had an incredible season but, missed time with injures which makes it tough to judge his case.
LSU fans, Jaguars fans, and just fans of the NFL have taken to Twitter/X to explode over the decision to snub Thomas.
No Brian Thomas Jr⁉️

BTJ had a better Season than Zay Flowers
BTJ has more Receptions/Yards/Touchdowns ‼️
Half of BTJ stats came with his back up QB Mac Jones throwing him the ball. This proves its just a popularity contest and not about ball🏈 #DUUUVAL @Jaguars pic.twitter.com/XpI3bsDMPA
One fan came to a great theory that the NFL may have pushed for three AFC North receivers as the division is being featured on the In-Season version of Hard Knocks,
They def put this dude and Jeudy in for Hard Knocks content lmao because neither are better than Brian Thomas https://t.co/MAzFqO5DQg

Most fans are looking at the stats as it's clear Thomas Jr has been better and has done it consistently rather than Jeudy who had an absurd short stretch but, wasn't consistent.
Jerry Jeudy over Brian Thomas, Jr. is a terrible Pro Bowl pick.

Jeudy: 84/1166/4
BTJ: 80/1179/10
BTJ had better output than Jeudy and did it the whole year. Jeudy had 7 games of relevance.
An entire year as a rookie outweighs Jameis slinging it with no regard for human life.
Thomas also beats Jeudy in yards after catch while the same fan points out he's played most of the year with Mac Jones.
Yearly reminder that Pro Bowls don’t matter😂

You can make an argument for a lot of snubs but more so than anyone imo is Brian Thomas
BTJ:
- 1,179 yards
- 10 TDs
- 536 YAC
- played multiple games with Mac Jones
Zay:
- 1,047 yards
- 4 TDs
- 449 YAC https://t.co/br94AbWmk5
At the end of the day, the game has become a collection of players on good teams rather than the best players.
With worse numbers than Garrett Wilson and Brian Thomas Jr, confirming for the thousandth time that making the Pro Bowl means you’re popular and play for a good team, not that you’re the best at your position. https://t.co/xfnVDMERX5
