Five Legendary Songs That Rock College Football Stadiums Every Game Day
Whether you're up in Wisconsin or down in Florida, there are five incredible songs that rock college football every week. One of the best parts of College Football is the environment in Stadium which far exceeds any energy level you'll find in Pro Sports. Every weekend, there are a few songs that rock College Football stadiums and have quickly become some of the best traditions in sports.
5. I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Florida Gators
The tradition of playing I won't back down at Florida games is a newer tradition as the Gators first did it following the death of Petty in 2017. Since that point, its been a staple at Florida Gators games and has quickly become one of the best In-Stadium songs in all of College Football. This is a great example of a song everyone knows the words to which makes for an incredible environment.
4. Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd - Alabama Crimson Tide
Now Alabama fans will be upset that Dixieland Delight wasn't the choice here but, Sweet Home Alabama is the right choice here. There's the issue that Dixieland Delight mentions Tennessee but, not Alabama, the school stopped playing the song for a few years, at most games the fans are leaving before Dixieland Delight, and the school pipes in audio over some of the adlibs the student section sings.
There's nothing quite like the environment before a big game inside Bryant-Denny Stadium once the crowd gets into singing Sweet Home Alabama as it gets the stadium buzzing.
3. Jump Around - House of Pain - Wisconsin Badgers
One of the best songs in all of College Football is when Wisconsin Badgers play Jump Around between the third and the fourth quarter of every home game. While its served as a motivational tool to opposing teams in 2024, the energy in the stadium immediately gets dialed up when Jump Around plays.
2. Take Me Home, Country Roads - John Denver - West Virginia Mountaineers
One of the best factors in a song being a great in-stadium song is the fans knowing every single word to the song. Whether you're a season ticket holder or attending a game for the first time you're going to know every word to the song. The tradition is what makes this one of the best as the Mountaineers have played the song at every home game since 1972.
1. Callin Baton Rouge - Garth Brooks - LSU Tigers
This season, Callin Baton Rouge has hit a new level as LSU has gotten the LED light system inside of Tiger Stadium creating an electric atmosphere. Unlike some schools where you only hear the song once, LSU plays Callin Baton Rouge before the game and before the fourth quarter which makes it impossible to miss. The version you hear played today is a recording from when Brooks sold out Tiger Stadium in 2022, the Tigers first started the tradition in 1993 after Brooks performed in Tiger Stadium.
