As the regular comes to an end in College Football we'll start to see a flurry of players entering the transfer portal from schools eliminated from the College Football Playoff hunt. On Monday, Brian Kelly declared that the LSU Football will bring in its biggest transfer class yet after sitting out for the most part last season.

Given that Mississippi State's season officially ended on Friday, the Bulldogs started to see the fallout from their awful season where they went winless in the SEC. Among the players that declared they'll be entering the transfer portal was former four-star wide receiver JJ Harrell.

This season Harrell redshirted appearing in four games without recording any major statistics.

During JJ Harrell's recruitment, LSU was heavily involved but, lost out multiple times which could be why they do or don't get involved in trying to land him as a transfer. Before landing at Mississippi State, Harrell committed to Tennessee who will also be a team to watch.

Given that Harrell didn't play this season, if LSU pushes for him and lands him in the transfer portal it won't be for him to be this team's top wide receiver but, more so as a developmental piece. The Tigers needed to add a younger receiver or two as they currently hold commitments from just three wide receivers one of which is Derek Meadows who is most likely going to flip his commitment.

As a wide receiver, Harrell is 6 foot 1 and 195 pounds with top end speed to pair with his athleticism. If LSU could get him into the fold and put him through a year of development in the program he could develop into a piece in the Wide Receiver long term especially as LSU will lose CJ Daniels and most likely Aaron Anderson following next season.
