As everyone prepares to watch Texas and Ohio State facing off in the Cotton Bowl for a chance to play for the College Football National Championship, College Gameday did a segment where Nick Saban was told he was going to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Nick Saban is most known as Alabama's Head Coach but, before bringing the Tide to the peak, Saban helped LSU win a National Championship and set LSU up with pieces to win the Title again in 2007.
In 1998, LSU went 4-7 and 2-6 in Conference Play and 1999 was worse with LSU finishing 3-8 and 1-7 in Conference play resulting in Gerry DiNardo's firing. Nick Saban came to Baton Rouge and the Tigers quickly went 8-4 followed by a 10-3 season in 2001 where LSU won the SEC. The 2002 season was a step back with LSU finishing 8-5 but, Nick Saban's LSU career reached its peak in 2003 winning the National Championship.
Nick Saban left LSU after the 2004 season heading to the NFL leaving a loaded roster and highly touted behind with some of those pieces helping LSU win the National Championship again in 2007.
When Nick Saban returned to College Football taking the Alabama job he quickly became LSU bitter rival especially as the Crimson Tide and the Tigers faced off in some of the biggest games every year.
While Nick Saban was the rival for a long period of time, he'll always hold a special place in the hearts of LSU fans for his impact during his short tenure in Baton Rouge. Saban brought a National Championship to LSU and some of the pieces he left behind helped LSU do it again. Upon coming to LSU, Saban made it an emphasis that the team needed a Football Operations building which he finally got to see this year. LSU fans and College Football fans can all agree that we're glad Nick Saban is no longer roaming the opposing sideline in Crimson.
