It's been four years since Ed Orgeron has coached college football. Orgeron and LSU parted ways following the 2021 season, and Coach O hasn't been on the sidelines since.

However, that might change soon. On the Barstool Sports podcast Pardon My Take, Orgeron hinted at a possible return to coaching college football. The LSU legend said he is "getting the itch again."

The college football landscape has changed a lot since Orgeron last coached in 2021, but he could have plenty of suitors should he decide to get back into the game. He stated he hasn't fully decided yet, but if the right opportunity presents itself, don't be surprised to see Coach O back on the sidelines soon. "I think it's the right time. I'm feeling it a little bit," Orgeron added.

Orgeron famously led LSU to a historic national title in 2019. The Tigers finished with a perfect 15-0 record and dominated the competition all season long. LSU beat seven top-ten teams that season, with an average margin of victory of 20 points against top-five teams.

Following the regular season, Orgeron was named the AP College Football Coach of the Year and the Home Depot Coach of the Year. He also coached several prominent players who continue to shine at the NFL level, including Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Justin Jefferson. In total, Orgeron ended his tenure at LSU with an overall record of 51-20 from 2016-2021, going 31-17 in SEC play.

Orgeron has three sons coaching college football this season. Cody and Parker are analysts at Miami (FL), with Cody on the offensive side and Parker on the defensive side. His eldest son Tyler is an offensive analyst and tight ends coach at Tulane. If Coach O decided to make a return to the coaching ranks, college football could have four Orgerons roaming the sidelines in the near future.
