The LSU Football team has had a red hot run on the recruiting trail which has seen the LSU Tigers go from the Nation's 6th ranked recruiting class to holding the top class in the Country. During this recruiting cycle, the LSU Tigers have had few hiccups as the Tigers have quickly landed blue chip prospects on both sides of the football.
While the LSU Football team has landed commitments non-stop at several positions the Tigers did have one player decommit from this class. When LSU hosted its Boys from the Boot recruiting event, JaReylan McCoy was the lone LSU commit to skip out on the event instead attending Ole Miss' event. Following the weekend, JaReylan McCoy decommitted from LSU and all signs pointed toward him committing to Ole Miss.
Former LSU Commit JaReylan McCoy sets return visit to LSU keeping Tigers in the race
On Thursday, it came as a surprise to LSU fans when JaReylan McCoy released his four official visits, keeping the Tigers in his recruitment while setting an official commitment date of July 1st.
The LSU Football team will get JaReylan McCoy back on campus for an official visit on June 20th which is the final of his four official visits before he commits. The June 20th recruiting weekend is massive for LSU as McCoy, Lamar Brown, Boobie Feaster, Havon Finney Jr, and Bowe Bentley will all be on campus.
JaReylan McCoy is one of the top defensive linemen in this class as On3's industry recruiting rankings tab McCoy as the 156th ranked player in the class, the 16th ranked defensive lineman in the class, and the 7th ranked player out of Mississippi.
LSU's recruitment of JaReylan McCoy has been fascinating, which will only make for a wild finish when McCoy announces his commitment. McCoy was a surprising addition to LSU's recruiting class when he committed to the Tigers during the Under Armour All-American game. Less than a month later, McCoy decommitted which many thought ended LSU's chances at landing McCoy. It'll be fascinating to watch how this recruitment pans out, especially if LSU somehow lands a commitment again.
