Earlier this Month, right before the Recruiting Dead Period went into effect, the LSU Football program's 2026 recruiting class took a hit as four star commit JaReylan McCoy decommitted from LSU.

The decommitment came right after McCoy attended Ole Miss' Junior Day over LSU's Junior Day which instantly was a red flag for LSU as they tried to hold on to the top 100 commit. As soon as McCoy reopened his recruitment all signs pointed toward McCoy committing to Ole Miss with On3 even predicting he'd commit to Lane Kiffin.

On Monday, JaReylan McCoy made his plans for official visits and among the five schools McCoy will visit is LSU as well as the frontrunner Ole Miss.

While it'll likely end with McCoy committing to Ole Miss, the Tigers getting another chance at landing JaReylan McCoy. On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings ranks JaReylan McCoy as the 88th ranked player in the class, the 8th ranked defensive lineman, and the 5th ranked player out of Mississippi.

McCoy has both the ability and the athletic traits to be an elite edge rusher at the College Football level. McCoy has massive arms and great speed for a player off the edge which makes him impossible to block at the High School level.

The LSU Football program has already started to build up the defensive line class and based on the talent in-state, the Tigers could come away with an incredible haul. Richard Anderson is committed to the Tigers out of Edna Karr as a Top-40 recruit in the Country. Louisiana also has elite talent in five-star Lamar Brown and four stars Dylan Berymon and Darryus McKinley.

All eyes in this recruitment will be on when LSU gets McCoy on campus and how long the recruitment remains open as the longer McCoy goes without committing to Ole Miss the better the chance LSU has at getting him back on board.
