On Monday Morning, the Transfer Portal will be chaotic as players will officially open for players to find their next program. Despite the transfer portal not being officially open yet, thousands of College Football players have already announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal while there are more behind the scenes who will do it less publicly.
One of the latest players to enter the transfer portal is former LSU and now former Ole Miss Quarterback Walker Howard.
Walker Howard spent just one season at LSU playing in the season opener and in the Bowl Game against Purdue finishing his tenure 2-4 passing for 7 yards while rushing for 33 yards on six carries. Howard's biggest contribution at LSU was his viral video with Brian Kelly from his recruiting trip.
Howard spent two seasons at Ole Miss but, was stuck on the depth chart behind Jaxson Dart and has seemingly been passed by Freshman Austin Simmons. During his time in Oxford, Howard went 3 for 6 passing for 56 yards.
The LSU Football team will be looking for a quarterback in the transfer portal as a depth piece which could make Howard an option. Its unlikely that Howard will transfer to once again backup a starting quarterback so the most likely path to him returning is Garrett Nussmeier entering the NFL Draft.
It'll be interesting to see where Howard lands as there haven't been a ton of starting caliber quarterbacks that have entered the transfer portal which could make him one of the top options.
