When a player enters the transfer portal, there's always a chance they may return back to the school that they were leaving. The LSU Football team saw this happen a few times last season with John Emery Jr and Sage Ryan returning to LSU for another season. This time around, LSU won't see Sage Ryan returning to the Tigers as he committed to Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.

Ryan becomes the second LSU transfer to commit to Ole Miss this offseason joining edge rusher Da'Shawn Womack on the Rebels.

Sage Ryan spent four seasons at LSU, recording 111 tackles, 12 pass defenses, a sack, three forced fumbles, and an interception which was thrown to him by now LSU Tight End Bauer Sharp. During his time at LSU, Ryan was asked to fill a ton of roles splitting time between safety and cornerback. Under Blake Baker this season, Ryan definitely had has best year as a Tiger.

The Tigers will get to face Sage Ryan next season as LSU will go to Ole Miss on September 27th.

Ryan leaving does leave LSU without a ton of experience at the safety position but, the Tigers have been actively pursuing other safeties via the Transfer Portal. It was likely the best time to move on for both sides, Ryan has been at LSU for Four Seasons and will look to improve his chances at being drafted elsewhere. The Tigers haven't gotten the play out of their safety group that they would've hoped for the last few seasons so the Tigers will look to add instant impact players.
