While some of our favorite LSU Tigers may no longer be sporting the Purple and Gold, it's always fun to follow former LSU stars after their LSU careers are over. The former LSU Baseball stars are the most interesting to follow as they go from competing against some of the best at the College Level to taking a career reset in the Minor Leagues where they have to work their way up the chain once again.
After helping the LSU Tigers win the College World Series in 2023 with an incredible .396 batting average, Tre' Morgan's LSU career came to a close. In the MLB Draft, the Tampa Bay Rays used the 88th overall pick in the 3rd round to select Morgan.
Ever since being taken in the 3rd round by the Tampa Bay Rays, all Tre Morgan has done is impress. In less than a year, Tre Morgan has flown through the Rays Minor League system going from Low-A all the way to Triple-A to start the 2025 season.
While Tre' Morgan's ability at the plate has typically been the most impressive he's always been a great fielder. After playing 1st base at LSU, Morgan has spent a ton of time in the Rays outfield where he's flashing the leather once again. On Tuesday Night, Tre Morgan made an incredible catch in Left Field sliding and holding onto the ball while crashing into the wall.
You've seen what Tre' Morgan can do at first base, but how about the outfield??@RaysBaseball's No. 4 prospect shows off his athleticism on yet another acrobatic catch for the @DurhamBulls: pic.twitter.com/wTlAeZh1Vi

The ability Morgan is showing on the field will only help him as he looks to make his MLB Debut this season. While Morgan is taking some time to adjust at the plate in AAA, his fielding ability is showing a ton of promise as the Rays will be able to play him all over the field with the ability he's shown adjusting to the outfield.
