The transfer portal is in full swing after opening on Wednesday and as players travel home for the holiday weekend the activity is picking up. While LSU has avoided a ton of loses in the transfer portal, other schools have not been as fortunate.
This transfer portal cycle has been a busy week for some former LSU football players as Ryan Yaites and Xavier Hill along with others have left their former programs.
The latest former LSU Tiger to enter the transfer portal is former LSU Wide Receiver Jalen Brown who has reportedly been dismissed from the Florida State football program and will enter the transfer portal.
Former LSU WR Jalen Brown dismissed by Florida State
Jalen Brown started his career at LSU signing with the Tigers as a top 100 recruit in the 2023 recruiting class. At LSU, Brown appeared in 3 games but didn’t record any stats.
After his freshman season at LSU, the Florida Native transferred back home playing one season for the Seminoles. In his lone season at FSU, Brown caught 8 passes for 75 yards.
The reason for dismissal is unclear and a bit surprising as Mike Norvell spoke glowingly about Brown this Spring saying that he’s “really proud of him” and that the wide receiver was really “growing up”.
It’s unclear what the circumstances around Jalen Brown’s departure are but he’ll now be on his third school in three seasons if he lands elsewhere. Brown seemed poised to be in line for a breakout season with the Seminoles especially as several wide receivers entered the transfer portal this season.
Wherever Jalen Brown lands, the team will be landing a high upside wide receiver that could make a massive impact. Jalen Brown has all of the speed needed to take the top off of an opposing defense.
