The Heisman odds board has seen plenty of shuffling through the first five weeks of the 2025 season. There is seemingly a new favorite every week as no clear frontrunner has emerged so far, which could make for an entertaining race the rest of the way.

With odds of +950, Garrett Nussmeier entered the season with the second-best odds to win the Heisman on DraftKings Sportsbook. However, those odds have gotten longer after Nussmeier's underwhelming and injury-filled start to the season. Here's where the Tiger gunslinger stacks up in the Heisman race as LSU enters a bye week in Week 6.

Garrett Nussmeier Heisman odds update

Nussmeier has totaled 1,159 passing yards and just seven touchdown passes with three interceptions through five games. For comparison, he racked up 1,656 yards and 17 touchdowns through the first five games of the 2024 season. It's a significant step back for Nussmeier, who has been playing through a torso injury that has fans worried about how healthy he is. It also doesn't help that LSU's offense has been one-dimensional with a complete lack of a running game and poor offensive line play.

As LSU enters a much-needed bye week, the LSU QB now has odds of +3000 to win the Heisman Trophy on DraftKings, placing him 16th on the list. That's a far drop from his odds of +950 at the beginning of the season.

There is a new Heisman favorite, as Oregon QB Dante Moore now owns the top spot with odds of +750. Moore put together an impressive performance on Saturday night, completing 29 of his 39 pass attempts for 248 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in Oregon's massive overtime win at Penn State. Alabama QB Ty Simpson (+850) and Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith (+1000) aren't far behind.

Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss has quickly shot up the Heisman odds board. He enters Week 6 with the sixth-best odds on DraftKings at +1500. Chambliss racked up 385 yards of total offense against LSU in Week 5, as Blake Baker's defense had no answer for the dual-threat playmaker.
