On Tuesday Night, the College Football Playoff committee unveiled their first set of rankings on ESPN. On ESPN's panel was LSU standout defensive lineman Booger McFarland who is always supportive of his alma honor.

After the Committee ranked LSU 15th, Booger McFarland shared his thoughts on LSU vs Alabama and what LSU needs to do to beat the Crimson Tide.

All week we've heard about LSU's struggles stopping a running quarterback and how that may affect the defense against Jalen Milroe. McFarland specifically pointed out the zone read as an area of concern against Milroe after Marcel Reed shredded the Tigers.

"Hopefully the LSU Defense has figured out how to tackle the zone read because against A&M they had no clue, and you know that Alabama is going to run it with Jalen Milroe."

Then McFarland flipped to the offense and he put a ton on Garrett Nussmeier as he'll decide this game for LSU after his worst game of the season.

"For the offense that has been led by Garrett Nussmeier can he figure out what color the Tigers are wearing? They're not going to run the football a lot he's going to need to throw them to a win."

There is no path to the College Football Playoff without a win for LSU

If the College Football Playoff committee showed anything on Tuesday night it is that everyone in the SEC is within striking distance of each other but, there are still so many teams tightly packed. Losing a third game will most likely eliminate them from contention while LSU losing this weekend would elevate Alabama's case. The Tigers frankly put can't lose another game and its all because of the brutal opening season loss to USC.
