Heading into the Texas Bowl, the game was a showcase set up perfectly for LSU's True Freshman Tight End Trey'Dez Green. The Tigers had just one scholarship tight end on the roster in Trey'Dez Green as Mason Taylor opted out for the NFL Draft while Ka'Morreun Pimpton is currently in the transfer portal.

Green took the opportunity and ran with is filling Mason Taylor's role with 6 catches for 53 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The playing time was far and away the most we've seen Green play this season and its clear Green is now ready to step up next season.

After the Game, Garrett Nussmeier shared an incredible story about Trey'Dez Green in the lead up to the Bowl Game. Before the game, Green asked Nussmeier if he thought he'd be able to score a touchdown or two in this game. Nussmeier said he responded in the moment by telling Green yes because he's a really good player. Tonight as Green was emerging, Nussmeier took the time to let Green know that he told him so.

Not only did Green score but, he scored twice just as he asked from Garrett Nussmeier. As LSU loaded up at Wide Receiver it's now clear that the Tigers have a true star in the making at tight end in Trey'Dez Green adding another massive piece to a loaded core.

Trey'Dez Green now gets an entire offseason and the reps this offseason will be massive in building up LSU's passing attack in 2025 especially as the offense may shift to best fit Green's ability.
