Entering Week 3 of the 2025 college football season, there is no clear Heisman frontrunner. Some players, like Oklahoma QB John Mateer, have seen their Heisman odds shorten thanks to an impressive couple games to start the season. However, some players, like Texas QB Arch Manning, have seen their Heisman odds get longer after an underwhelming beginning to the season.
But where does LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier stack up in the Heisman market? The Tiger gunslinger entered the 2025 season with the second-best odds to win the Heisman with odds of +950 at DraftKings. After two weeks of play, those odds have slightly shifted.
Garrett Nussmeier Heisman odds update
Via DraftKings Sportsbook, Nussmeier still has the second-best odds to win the Heisman, but his odds have shifted from +950 to +900. It's not a major change, but it shows that oddsmakers are liking what they are seeing from Nussmeier so far this season. Through two games, the Lake Charles native has completed 54 of his 79 pass attempts for 469 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. Nussmeier was especially impressive down the stretch in LSU's Week 1 win over Clemson. In the fourth quarter, he went a perfect 9-for-9 for 39 yards and the game-winning touchdown.
Oklahoma's John Mateer is now the favorite with odds of +850. Arch Manning started the season as the Heisman favorite, but after a rough debut against Ohio State, his odds have gotten longer. Manning now sits fifth on the list with odds of +1400 after beginning the season with odds of +650.
Nussmeier has been a model of consistency since earning the full-time starting gig ahead of the 2024 season. The veteran QB has accumulated at least 200 passing yards in all 16 of his career starts, which is the third-longest active FBS streak.
Nussmeier and the Tigers have an opportunity for revenge on Saturday night in the SEC opener against Florida. LSU fell to Florida 26-17 in Gainesville last season, and Nussmeier was asked to throw 47 times and was sacked seven times. The Tigers enter the game favored by a touchdown over the Gators.
