Postseason play finally begins for the LSU Baseball team as the Tigers kick off their chase for their 8th National Championship beginning with the SEC Tournament. After earning two byes as the Tigers finished 3rd in the SEC, the Tigers kick off postseason play against the Texas A&M Aggies. Texas A&M was able to outlast Auburn on Thursday Night getting the Aggies to this point.
LSU finished the regular season 42-13 with a 19-11 record in SEC play and are a lock for the SEC Tournament but, may need to win this game to secure a Top 8 National seed. The Texas A&M Aggies on the other hand had a disaster regular season and may need to win this game to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.
The biggest question heading into this game is the status of one of the Nation's top sluggers. On Thursday, Texas A&M star Jace LaViolette suffered a fractured fourth metacarpal shaft and is projected to return if the Aggies make the NCAA Tournament. Caden Sorrell is already a massive question for the Aggies as he deals with an injury.
