The Tigers get to host three teams for the Regional in Baton Rouge with the winner of the Regional advancing to Super Regionals. Heading to Baton Rouge are 2nd-seeded Nebraska, 3rd seeded UConn, and 4th seeded Southeastern Louisiana.
On Friday, Nebraska and UConn face off first to start the Baton Rouge Regional followed by LSU facing off against Southeastern Louisiana. The LSU Softball team has already faced off against Southeastern Louisiana this season with the Tigers picking up a 3-2 win. The concern for LSU will be the fact that the Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the matchup before the Tigers mounted a comeback late needing a walk off to win the game for the second straight game in this matchup.
The Lions won 40+ games for their 4th straight season while winning the SLC Tournament and were arguably a 3 seed in this Tournament field. The Tigers are 21-1 All-Time against the Lions, including a 19-0 record in Tiger Park.
