After getting upset against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions, the LSU Softball team has a much tougher path to making it out of the Baton Rouge Regional. LSU's path to getting back on track starts against the UConn Huskies in the loser's bracket on Saturday Afternoon, in what could be a two-game day for the Tigers.
In Friday's game against Southeastern Louisiana, the Tigers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but, the Tigers offense was unable to push a run across the rest of the game. Southeastern Louisiana was able to tie the game in the 4th inning before finally taking a lead in the 7th inning. If LSU is going to survive Saturday, the Tigers are going to need to find a way to score consistently.
UConn is coming off of a worse Friday as the Huskies were mercy ruled by Nebraska 10-2 in 5 innings. The Huskies' offense struggled as well but, UConn did have to face one of the best players in the Country Jordy Bahl.
