Everything is bigger in Texas and for the LSU Baseball team, the matchups are the biggest they have been thus far this season. On Wednesday, the 2nd Ranked LSU Tigers will face off against the 19th Ranked Dallas Baptist Patriots. The Tigers enter the matchup at 7-1 while Dallas Baptist enters the game at 6-1 on the year.
Given that Dallas Baptist will be LSU's strongest opponent to date, it'll be interesting to see how the Tigers fare at the plate as they have struggled at times. The Tigers bullpen has been electric early on despite Gavin Guidry's injury which will continue to be a key for LSU in this matchup.
Starting Pitchers:
There's no guessing this time around as to who the starting pitchers will be on both sides as the matchup has been set by both of the head coaches. Jay Johnson didn't move his Friday Starter up to face the Top 25 Patriots which may surprise some but, it makes the most sense this early in the season.
- LSU: Conner Ware (LHP) 1-0 0.00 ERA
- DBU: Ryan Borberg (RHP) 0-0 3.00 ERA
Conner Ware pitched three innings in his first appearance and the Tigers will likely need more length from Ware during this busy week.
