Last week, the LSU Baseball team was set to face off against the Nicholls State Colonels but, weather didn't permit causing the teams to shake up their schedules. Now the Tigers and the Colonels are set to faceoff for the first time this season on Monday Night in Baton Rouge.

The LSU Tigers enter the matchup with a 6-1 record after going 2-1 in their weekend series against the Omaha Mavericks. The Colonels enter the game with a 5-2 record coming off of a Weekend Series sweep against Little Rock.

Given that Gavin Guidry hasn't made his season debut yet, he seems like the definite starter for Jay Johnson ahead of a busy week. If Gavin Guidry doesn't get the start, Jacob Mayers who transferred to LSU from Nicholls State could be a perfect candidate to start against his former team pushing Gavin Guidry back later in the week. Whoever starts for Jay Johnson will need to give the Tigers length as this is game 1 of 5 this week.

Coming off of a shaky series, all eyes this week will be on LSU's offense as the new look Tigers have done a great job getting on base but, the power isn't at the level it has been the past few seasons.
