This weekend, the LSU Tigers will play their biggest series yet as the 2nd ranked LSU Tigers will look to beat the 5th ranked Texas Longhorns in Austin. The Tigers enter this game on a 16 game winning streak at 21-1 and 3-0 in SEC Play. The Longhorns enter this game 17-2 with a 3-0 record in SEC play but, are coming off of an ugly loss to UTSA.
The LSU Tigers have been powered by their red hot offense as of late allowing the pitchers plenty of cushion to work with. The Tigers' success starts with Derek Curiel's ability to get on base as he ranks 2nd in the SEC in hits while leading the conference in walks and on base percentage. Curiel's ability to get on base has allowed Jared Jones, Jake Brown, and LSU's other power hitters to face hittable pitches and they've made their opponents pay.
Texas' top of the lineup is loaded with hitters that will make you pay for giving them something to hit. Rylan Galvan and Ethan Mendoza are the two players that can do the most damage as they're constantly driving in runs. The Longhorns two best pitchers are unbeaten with sub 2.4 ERA's which can test LSU's offense.
