The LSU Women's Basketball team came into the offseason needing an influx of new talent after a season where the Tigers were unable to return to the Final 4. As Kim Mulkey lost starters Aneesah Morrow, Sa'Myah Smith, and Shayeann-Day Wilson along with several other pieces it gave her plenty of work to do in the transfer portal.

As Kim Mulkey returned two of the biggest stars in the sport with Flau'Jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams back in the fold, Mulkey needed to add pieces around them. Mulkey started the cycle off adding pieces that can help on the inside after losing Morrow, landing Notre Dame center Kate Koval and East Carolina's Amiya Joyner.

As Mulkey had her two wings and her two forwards in place, all the Tigers needed to add was a facilitator to make everything click. The Lady Tigers ended up landing a 3rd superstar nabbing South Carolina guard MiLaysia Fulwiley. Fulwiley is a flashy guard who never got to start for the Gamecocks but, anytime she was on the court it was clear she's one of the best guards in the Country.

This week, Kim Mulkey went on Gordon McKernan's podcast where she spoke about how special of a player Fulwiley is while giving the fans an inside look at the recruiting p

"Yes, every time we've played South Carolina, she in particular has kicked our rear end, rather it be in a regular season game or in the SEC Tournament, she just was special every time she played LSU."

Normally when you are courting a High School recruit or a College transfer you typically expect a visit and a ton of work put into it. Kim Mulkey revealed that not only did MiLaysia Fulwiley commit without taking a visit but, she only needed to speak to Kim Mulkey once to land at LSU.

"No, it didn't take much, I think I spoke to her and her mother one time, and she has not even come here on a visit. She's played against us enough to know our style of play, These young people do their homework, they look at rosters, they look at openings in the starting five, and openings in the rotation of 8 or 9 players. She pretty much, I think, had her mind made up, and it was not an easy thing to sell, but you're always nervous, and that's what makes it not easy."

Kim Mulkey finished by talking about the style Fulwiley plays with and how she'll fit in with this team.

"She's an exciting player, she plays with a lot of flair, she's going to come into a program that has great players, and we're going to be excited when I can get her on that floor."

It's exciting to see that Kim Mulkey and her staff were able to go out and land that third true star next to Flau'Jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams. The last two seasons we've seen that Kim Mulkey hasn't had a point guard that fits her system which will make Fulwiley a massive addition for the Tigers if she's able to fit in.
