The LSU Basketball team cruised to victory on Wednesday Night as the Tigers crushed the ULM Monroe Warhawks winning 95 to 60. The Tigers dominated the vast majority of this game as expected as UL Monroe is expected to finish in the bottom of the Sun Belt Conference.

The story on Wednesday Night was the massive game from Jalen Reed as he dominated this game for LSU. Reed set a career high with 24 points while shooting 8-8 at the free throw line and 8-9 from the field while also grabbing eight rebounds. Getting Reed to return to LSU rather than entering the NBA Draft or the Transfer Portal was a massive win for Matt McMahon and its paying off early on.

The other biggest move of the offseason was landing Cam Carter from Kansas State as he has the ability to carry this team on offense. We got a glimpse into how impactful Cam Carter is as he finished with 21 points shooting 4-8 from three while adding a block and a steal. It wasn't Cam Carter's best night and he still managed to rack up 21 points which is encouraging for LSU.

True Freshman Curtis Givens III was incredible for LSU finishing with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Fellow True Freshman Robert Miller got the start in this game finishing with 2 points, a block, a steal, a rebound, and three assists showing impressive passing ability.

Dji Bailey gave LSU another efficient performance shooting 6 of 7 from the field finishing with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.

The Three Pointer didn't power LSU on Wednesday

One of the biggest poinys of emphasis from Matt McMahon was getting his team to play faster and to shoot better from three. The Tigers didn't have their best shooting performance making 10 of 34 attempts from deep. Instead, it was the solid play in the paint powering LSU as the Tigers scored 46 of 95 points inside. The Tigers showed a balanced approach in this game and the ability to beat teams both ways will be massive in SEC Play.
