While LSU and Oklahoma weren't in the mix for Jared Curtis, the Nation's top quarterback recruit and the 6th ranked player in the class both fanbases had a vested interest in where he committed. When Jared Curtis announced he was re-committing to Georgia it was massive news for LSU and Oklahoma in the recruitment of 4-star quarterback Bowe Bentley.
The Celina, Texas star had named a top three of LSU, Oklahoma, and Georgia heading into the summer where he'll take official visits to all three. As Georgia lands the Nation's top quarterback recruit Jared Curtis, the Bulldogs seemingly become less of a threat to land Bowe Bentley.
The Oklahoma Sooners were the presumed front runner for Bowe Bentley early on in this recruiting cycle. While Oklahoma has been the front runner for Bowe Bentley the Sooners already have a quarterback on board in 4-star Jaden O'Neal. O'Neal's recruitment was affected by Jared Curtis' commitment, as he had been eyeing Georgia.
The LSU Football team has been searching for a quarterback since Bryce Underwood flipped his commitment from LSU to Michigan. Underwood flipping from LSU hurt the Tigers as well as most of the 2026 quarterbacks committed elsewhere as there was no clear path to playing time for a quarterback behind Underwood.
On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings tab Bowe Bentley as a 4-star recruit as the 76th ranked player in the class, the 7th ranked quarterback in the class, and the 10th ranked player out of Texas. While Oklahoma has been the front runner in this recruitment, the LSU Football team has been closing the gap on Oklahoma.
The Tigers will get Bowe Bentley on campus from June 20th through June 22nd for an official visit which is the Tigers busiest recruiting weekend. LSU does have a massive advantage as the Tigers will get the final official visit from Bowe Bentley.
