The LSU Football program has the reputation of developing some of the best wide receivers at the college level who go on to become franchise changing superstars at the NFL level. From Odell Beckham Jr and Jarvis Landry to Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase to LSU’s latest star duo of Brian Thomas Jr and Malik Nabers when LSU produces a high level receiver the Country is on notice.

In 2025, LSU will have another loaded wide receiver core with Aaron Anderson and Chris Hilton Jr returning with elite transfers coming into the program. While LSU may have the Nation’s best receiver room in 2025, the Tigers will have without a doubt one of if not the fastest wide receiver rooms in the Country.

LSU returns speedster Chris Hilton Jr who’s among the fastest receivers in college football and they added Barion Brown from Kentucky who’s another high end speed threat. While both receivers are fast, neither can claim to be as fast as Freshman Jelani Watkins.

In Jelani Watkins’ collegiate opener on the track he put the world on notice running a 10.01 second 100 meter dash which is the top speed in the SEC and tied for the best time in College this season.

As a Freshman, Watkins only appeared in two games redshirting to develop as a wide receiver. While LSU has a loaded veteran receiving room, every LSU fan is looking forward to seeing Watkins speed on the football field.

Watkins was highly recruited as a four star out of high school committing to LSU over Texas A&M. While LSU likely won’t deploy Watkins much in 2025, all LSU fans would love to see LSU put Jelani Watkins, Barion Brown, and Chris Hilton Jr on the field together once using all of the speed with Garrett Nussmeier’s massive arm.
