The Cincinnati Bengals came into the day needing a win over the Denver Broncos to stay alive in the Playoff race. The Broncos would have clinched a playoff birth and ended the Bengals playoff hopes with a win while a win for the Bengals kept them alive but, still needing help the rest of the way.
Late in the game things looked bleak for the Bengals as Tee Higgins had the ball stripped giving the Broncos the football near midfield with five minutes to play. Then the Bengals defense came up big with an interception giving Joe Burrow one last chance to go down and make a play.
The Bengals quickly got to work with Joe Burrow finding Ja'Marr Chase for a massive 38 yard gain putting the Bengals on the Broncos 21 yard line. The Bengals then found themselves in a 3rd and 6 needing a big play and Burrow went to Mr Reliable finding Ja'Marr Chase for a 11 yard gain. The Bengals then went and got the go ahead score on a QB Sneak by Joe Burrow.
The drama didn't end there as Bo Nix led the Broncos on a perfect drive to send the game to overtime making Zac Taylor's decision to score on the sneak questionable.
The Bengals defense did its job after the offense stalled out but, Cade York missed the 33-yard attempt to win the game. The Bengals hunkered down again on defense and Joe Burrow threw an absolute dime to Tee Higgins to put the Bengals on the 3 yard line.
Higgins then iced the game for the Bengals finishing off the job scoring on a 3 yard pass from Burrow to keep the Bengals alive another week.
The Bengals will now be rooting heavily against the Colts and the Dolphins who are ahead of them in the standings as the Bengals need each to lose once as well as the Broncos next week versus the Chiefs.
Joe Burrow was incredible once again finishing the night 39 for 49 passing for 412 yards and 3 passing touchdowns adding another touchdown and 20 yards rushing against one of the league's best defenses. Joe Burrow became the first quarterback in Bengals history to throw 40 or more touchdowns in a season another incredible feat.
While matched up against two of the league's best cornerbacks Ja'Marr Chase had another monster day catching 9 passes for 102 yards as he's closing in on the receiving triple crown. The Bengals are getting two unbelievable seasons out of Burrow and Chase and if this team can get into the Playoffs, the offense is good enough to go on a deep playoff run.
