This past week was the official final push of the winter for the LSU Football team on the recruiting trail as the Coaches made their final recruiting pushes and hosted several recruits on campus for the annual Junior Day. The Junior Day brings a ton of elite recruits and In-State players onto campus and it's consistently one of the biggest recruiting days of the year.
This weekend, LSU was expected to host all of its commitments in the 2026 recruiting class along with the Top 10 Players in the state according to On3. The plans didn't fully pan out for LSU as the Tigers saw commit JaReylan McCoy visit Ole Miss while Top In-State recruit Dylan Berymon attended Mississippi State's Junior Day.
The most concerning of the two is JaReylan McCoy attending Ole Miss' Junior Day over LSU's Junior Day. JaReylan McCoy committed to LSU during the Under Armour All American Game and is one of the best pieces in LSU's class as a Top 100 recruit. This was McCoy's second visit to Ole Miss in three weeks and given that they're the In-State school Lane Kiffin may make a serious run at flipping McCoy.
Dylan Berymon was expected on LSU's campus but, instead attended Mississippi State's Junior Day. This week, Brian Kelly visited Dylan Berymon and this weekend could've been another momentum building visit for the Tigers. According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Dylan Berymon is the 233rd ranked player in the Country, the 23rd ranked defensive lineman, and the 9th ranked player in the state of Louisiana.
The good news for LSU is that the Tigers have plenty of time with both recruits with the Early National Signing Day just under a year away. Not getting either recruit on campus certainly was a blow for the Tigers but, the team may get to make another push this Spring.
