After sweeping a two game weekday series the LSU Tigers kicked off a three game weekend set against the North Alabama Lions looking to remain the Nation's top ranked team with another perfect week. The bad news for North Alabama is that LSU decided to turn this game into a home run derby as the Tigers kept blasting home runs.
While the Tigers threatened in the first two innings, the offense didn't start rolling until the third inning. Josh Pearson got the scoring started for the Tigers with a solo shot and from there the offense started to fire on all cylinders.

Steve Milam would follow with a walk before scoring on a Jake Brown double down the line in right which made it 2-0 Tigers. Tanner Reaves would plate Jake Brown and Luis Hernandez on his first career home run which he blasted to right.

In the bottom of sixth LSU made sure that North Alabama wouldn't come back in this game starting with a bases loaded walk by Josh Pearson pushing a run across. Cade Arrambide would push another runner across on a fielders choice before John Pearson hit a moonshot giving LSU a 13-1 lead.

Kade Anderson was dominant for the Tigers allowing just one run on four hits without surrendering a walk while striking out 11. Mavrick Rizy was called on first in relief allowing the first two players to reach, Rizy worked out of the jam allowing just one run giving LSU a 13-2 mercy rule victory.
Derek Curiel and Jared Jones didn't have the dominant showings everyone is used to seeing but, it did not matter in this matchup as everyone stepped up. This game showed exactly what this team can be when they're clicking as there isn't an easy out in the lineup or on the bench. Kade Anderson giving the Tigers depth was massive as it allows Jay Johnson bullpen flexibility the rest of the weekend.
