The LSU Tigers and the Oklahoma Sooners faced off and when you have two pitchers as highly touted as Kyson Witherspoon and Kade Anderson dueling, you're always going to draw a crowd. According to ESPN's broadcast, 50+ MLB scouts showed up in Norman, Oklahoma to watch two future first round picks face off.

When Kade Anderson loaded the bases to start the 1st inning, it looked like he may not have his A-Game but, he quickly struck out a pair to work his way out of trouble. From that point on, the game became the Kade Anderson show as he hardly ever found himself in trouble again.

When Kade Anderson capped off the 7th inning with 100+ pitches, it seemed his day was over with a stellar showing. He then came out for the 8th inning putting up another 1-2-3 inning but, was at 119 pitches which made everyone assume he was done for the game. When Kade Anderson jogged out for the 9th inning, it seemed shocking but, as Anderson got three batters to make weak contact, Jay Johnson appeared to have made the right decision as his Ace slammed the door, and it was only fitting that Anderson ended it fielding his position.

Kade Anderson finished the game pitching 9 scoreless innings, striking out 14 Sooners while allowing just 5 hits and a pair of walks. As LSU has struggled getting depth from some of their starters, Anderson took it into his own hands to help the bullpen out this weekend. The showing was the first complete game by an LSU pitcher since Paul Skenes, a remarkable feat by Anderson.

Kyson Witherspoon looked every bit like a first round pick as well for the Oklahoma Sooners, going 6 innings, allowing just two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four which is an impressive feat against a lineup as talented as LSU's.

Jared Jones' RBI single in the third inning along with Chris Stanfield's RBI double in the 5th inning were all LSU needed winning this game 2-0.

As the Tigers and Sooners face off again on Friday and Saturday, the advantage shifts toward LSU as the Tigers didn't need to deploy either of their star relievers giving Jay Johnson all of his weapons available this weekend.
