As we approach the end of the College Football Season, the offseason will kick off before the current season truly ends. We've already seen it but, over the next few weeks players will put their names into the transfer portal setting up their next year in College Football. The LSU Football team hasn't seen any players enter the transfer portal but, they will eventually while they've also probably started their evaluations of other players that entered the transfer portal.

One player to keep an eye on is Alabama Outside Linebacker Keanu Koht who entered the Transfer Portal on Tuesday.

Given that LSU will likely need to address the edge rusher position this offseason, it makes a ton of sense for LSU to pursue Keanu Koht. The Tigers will likely lose Bradyn Swinson and Sai'Vion Jones to the NFL Draft and given that Da'Shawn Womack was just suspended against Florida it may be a situation to watch.

Keanu Koht committed to LSU on July 4th, 2020 and was committed to LSU until National Signing Day when he flipped and signed with Alabama. As a recruit, Koht was the 61st ranked player in the class, the 5th ranked edge rusher, and the 11th ranked player out of Florida.

The biggest downside for LSU targeting Koht is that he hasn't played much this season and recently was suspended by Kalen DeBoer.

Along with LSU, some potential candidates are his recruitment finalists Auburn, Florida, and Oregon. The other in-state schools such as Miami and Florida State the latter which has become reliant on the transfer portal over the last few years.

LSU heavily pursuing Keanu Koht would be a bet on his talent and a bet on Kevin Peoples being the right coach to develop him. We saw Bradyn Swinson take a massive leap under Kevin Peoples this season which could be a major asset for LSU in recruiting transfers.
