Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers land their third top 25 recruit in ZaKiyah Johnson
While the LSU Women's Basketball season starts this week, Kim Mulkey is hot on the recruiting trail building the future of her program. Today, the LSU Tigers have landed ZaKiyah Johnson the fourth ranked recruit in the country and the top shooting guard in the class.
LSU landed Johnson over two in-state programs the Kentucky Wildcats and the Louisville Cardinals speaking to LSU's effort recruiting her.
Kim Mulkey now holds commitments from two of the top seven highest ranked recruits in the class as Johnson joins Divine Bourrage the Nation's 7th ranked recruit in this class and Bella Hines another top 25 commit. This is Mulkey's third commitment in this class a cycle after taking just one recruit, LSU now holds three top 25 recruits in its class with the potential to add one more in Gracie Knox.
Johnson visited LSU on September 7th along with Divine Bourrage who already committed and Gracie Knox who LSU is still pushing heavily for. After landing just one high school recruit last cycle Kim Mulkey has put an emphasis on High School recruiting and its paying off big with this class.
Kim Mulkey's strive to get back to where LSU belongs
While the Tigers had a good season last year, it wasn't good enough for Kim Mulkey as she believes this program should be in the final four every year. As Dawn Staley's South Carolina team cut down the nets, you knew that Kim Mulkey was going to do whatever it took to get LSU back to the top of the SEC and the Nation. The worst thing for every other program is an angry Kim Mulkey recruiting against them as she's going to start ripping off incredible classes.
