Through out the start of the Women's College Basketball season, there have been a ton of analysts criticizing who LSU has played this season. Analysts all called LSU's Non-Conference schedule soft and the Tigers didn't get a ton of respect from AP Poll voters compared to teams with worse records against better opponents.
After the loss to South Carolina, Kim Mulkey finally had enough with those critical of LSU's schedule and she finally fired back at the critics.
"It’s not the first time I’ve heard people complain about a soft schedule. I know my team better than anybody, and what I’ve been doing has worked. I don’t get caught up into what the TV people want you to do or the NCAA Selection Committee thinks you should do. If we didn’t send a message today, who do we need to play to send the message to? We were on their home court."Kim Mulkey
During the LSU Basketball team's National Championship season, the Tigers faced the same criticism and that season resulted with LSU cutting down the nets while everyone else went home without the National Championship trophy.
At this point in her career, Kim Mulkey doesn't need to prove anything to anyone and she really doesn't even need to respond to the critics. Mulkey is a four time National Championship and after winning three Titles at Baylor she accomplished the feat at LSU.
The Tigers schedule has been called soft but, LSU still boasts ranked wins over Tennessee, NC State, and Vanderbilt. At the end of the day all that matters is what you do in the NCAA Tournament and if Kim Mulkey gets there and wins it all no one will remember that LSU didn't play the toughest schedule but, they'll remember how LSU won the National Championship.
