The drama Lane Kiffin surrounding Lane Kiffin's future continues to dominate the college football world. LSU and Florida are giving it all they've got to bring Kiffin in, while Ole Miss is trying desperately to keep him in Oxford. The process has already been dragged on for several weeks, and it doesn't seem to be coming to a half anytime soon.

Ole Miss AD issues statement regarding Lane Kiffin's future
Kiffin met with Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter on Friday to discuss his future plans. After the meeting, Carter posted a statement to social media stating that Kiffin is focused on next Friday's Egg Bowl. Earlier this week, a report from The Athletic stated that Ole Miss had given Kiffin a deadline to inform the school of his future plans before the Egg Bowl. If no update was given by the Rebel head coach, Ole Miss was threatening to not let Kiffin coach in the College Football Playoff. However, Kiffin shot down those rumors on the Pat McAfee Show, saying that no ultimatum was ever given.
The Egg Bowl still plays a vital part in this saga, as next Friday's matchup between the Rebels and Bulldogs could determine Ole Miss' playoff fate. The Rebels are 10-1 on the season and right now seem to have a spot in the 12-team playoff all but locked up. However, a misstep against Mississippi State could change everything.
Once the game concludes, LSU, Florida, and Ole Miss fans will all be waiting with bated breath to hear Kiffin's announcement. The drama has already been dragging on, and now Tiger, Gator, and Rebel fans are all growing impatient. Will all be resolved next Saturday with Kiffin's announcement? Or will it only create more drama and confusion? Only time will tell, and as we've already seen with this spectacle, anything is possible.
