The LSU Football team has had a hectic few weeks on the defensive line front with defensive line coach Bo Davis jumping to the NFL leaving LSU without a defensive line coach. The Tigers have since hired LSU Legend Kyle Williams to take over as the defensive line coach filling a much needed void on the staff.
The biggest fear when LSU lost Bo Davis was that the Tigers would suffer on the recruiting trail in a crucial defensive line cycle. The Tigers already have a top five recruit on board in defensive tackle Richard Anderson while Lamar Brown an In-State five star attends University Labs which is in the shadows of Tiger Stadium.
Lamar Brown quickly calmed any fears LSU fans and the staff may have when he declared that the Tigers still led in his recruitment.

Lamar Brown is the top priority in the 2026 recruiting class for the LSU Football program. Brown is ranked as the 22nd ranked player in the 2026 class, the top ranked interior offensive lineman, and the top player out of Louisiana. While Brown is ranked as an offensive lineman he'll play defensive line at LSU if he commits to the Tigers.
This recruitment has long felt like a toss up between LSU and Texas A&M as Brown popped up on Texas A&M's campus several times last season while he has a strong bond with Mike Elko. Brian Kelly and LSU started recruiting Brown as a defensive lineman and it has helped LSU grab the upper hand in Brown's recruitment. The next step for LSU is getting Lamar Brown on campus as he'll need to meet Kyle Williams but, LSU is in a strong place.
