Ever since Bryce Underwood flipped away from LSU to Michigan, the Tigers have struggled to land quarterbacks recruits. Brian Kelly and company still don't have a QB commit for the 2026 or 2027 classes, but they are hoping that changes today.
Four-star QB Peyton Houston is set to announce his commitment on Monday, and LSU is firmly in the mix. Houston is rated by 247Sports Composite as the No. 11 QB in the 2027 class, and industry experts are leaning toward Houston's choosing LSU.
Peyton Houston commitment decision looming
Throughout Houston's recruitment process, it has seems that Oklahoma was considered to be the frontrunner. But hailing from Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, LSU has always been right in the mix. Baton Rouge is fresh on Houston's mind, as he was in Death Valley this weekend for LSU's 20-10 win over Florida on Saturday night. Was the visit enough to get Houston to Baton Rouge?
The stars are out in Death Valley tonight with all eyes on the Tigers.

After the visit, LSU Insider Shea Dixon appeared on Rivals' "The Inside Scoop" and stated that he thinks Houston will choose LSU.
"If he was really set on OU, you don't even really need to bother with going down for a visit - let alone bring the whole family and go through the entire meeting process before you announce 48 hours later."Shea Dixon
"I think I'm leaning LSU here"@Sheadixon has a good feeling LSU is going to land a top-10 QB tomorrow 🐯

Last season, Houston led the state of Louisiana with 4,480 pass yards and 38 touchdowns. Getting a commitment from Houston would be a big get for Brian Kelly and his staff, and would end their recent string of back luck recruiting QBs. LSU doesn't have a 2027 commit yet, and Houston would be a great place to start. Houston is set to announce his decision at 9:30 a.m. CT on Monday. Needless to say, LSU will be tuned in.
