On Friday Afternoon, the LSU Baseball team returns to action kicking the season off with a three game series against Purdue Fort Wayne. The Tigers did a ton of shuffling this offseason using the transfer portal to load up on pitching talent and with the new pieces replacing what the Tigers lost to the draft it made a perfect fit. As LSU heads into the season, the LSU Baseball team announced its three man rotation of Kade Anderson, Anthony Eyanson, and Chase Shores.

The Tigers Opening Day Starter and the Friday Starter is Sophomore Left Handed Pitcher Kade Anderson. In 2024, Anderson was one of the most reliable arms for Jay Johnson appearing in 18 games with 9 starts posing a 4-2 record with a 3.99 ERA. During the offseason, Anderson has impressed in his development and may end up being the Ace of Jay Johnson's rotation.
Handling the Saturday Starts will be incoming transfer Anthony Eyanson who joins the LSU Baseball team from UC San Diego. In his first season as a Starter, Eyanson broke out pitching 82 innings with a 3.07 ERA while holding opposing batters to a .190 Batting Average. The hitting in the SEC is much tougher competition for Eyanson but, LSU's staff will also help him in reaching the next level.
Finally, handling the starting duties on Sunday will be Redshirt Sophomore Right Hander Chase Shores. During the 2023 season, Chase Shores was starting to emerge as one of the teams best pitchers but, a torn UCL cost him most of 2023 and all of 2024. This season, Shores will look to return to his dominant form and if he does he'll end up slotting in as the teams Friday Starter.
When LSU kicks off Weekday games it'll be interesting to see who gets the first chance at starting as they very well could work their way into weekend appearances. The top name to watch is Conner Ware who impressed this offseason on the mound but, the Tigers do have several other pieces capable of working their way into the full time rotation.
