LSU Baseball caps off sweep of North Alabama with offensive surge

Jared Jones got the scoring going early for the Tigers after Derek Curiel singled as the Bear climbed the wall in right to make it 2-0 LSU.

Daniel Dickinson would reach on an error followed by a Steven Milam singled which set Jake Brown up to drive in Dickinson on a single up the middle. The Tigers would push a fourth run across in the first inning as Stevn Milam scored on a perfectly executed double steal.

In the third inning, North Alabama fought back into the game with a double and a walk allowing North Alabama to hit back to back RBI Singles.

In the Fourth Inning, it was Steven Milam's turn to leave the yard as he hit a solo shot to right-center to make it 5-2 LSU.

Chase Shores didn't have as good of a day as his two weekend counte parts but, he also allowed just two runs. Shores finished the day giving up nine hits, two walks, and two runs while striking out four throwing five innings and 94 pitches.

The Tigers offense went cold for a while before exploding for 6 runs in the 6th inning. Derek Curiel walked to push a run across and Daniel Dickinson singled a run across scoring a second run. Josh Pearson then hit a no doubt grand slam off the roof of the indoor facility blowing the game open.

The offense went quite the rest of the game but, it was enough to get the win. It wasn’t the best day for the Tigers bullpen as they allowed runs in the 8th and 9th inning but, the bullpen is still being sorted out.

The Tigers now head in to their first week with SEC play which brings a tougher level of competition.
