On Saturday, Anthony Eyanson twirled a complete game gem sending LSU and Texas A&M to a Weekend Series rubber match on Sunday. After both sides got dominant pitching on Saturday, both team's got solid outings from their starters making this a tightly contested game. However, in a game LSU looked poised to win, the Tigers dropped Sunday's game late

After Texas A&M threatened in the first inning, both pitchers locked in giving their sides 3 scoreless innings each. Luis Hernandez got the scoring started for LSU with a RBI double to score Michael Braswell from first. Steven Milam then brought Steven Milam home with an RBI single through the left side making it 2-0 LSU.

Casan Evans walked a pair in the bottom half of the fourth inning, an RBI single ended his game as the Tigers brought in DJ Primeaux. The Tigers' lefty was able to strikeout Jace LaViolette and Jay Johnson, then turned the game over to Jaden Noot. Kaedan Kent got the best of Jaden Noot in the 5th inning with a solo blast to right field tying the game at 2 a piece.

After nearly hitting a home run in the 4th inning, Luis Hernandez got all of one in the 6th inning blasting a 2 run homer to give the Tigers a 4-2 lead.

The Tigers' staff held up strong until the bottom of the 8th inning, where the Aggies flipped the game. Gavin Kash reached base on a double bringing the tying runner to the plate and quickly reached third base on a wild pitch. The Tigers got 2 outs quickly and brought in Conner Ware to face Jace LaViolette as the Tigers lefties handled him all weekend. LaViolette hit one softly to 3rd but, was able to beat it out making it 4-3 LSU. After the wind allowed another soft base hit, Caden Sorrell exploded for the first time all weekend hitting a 3-Run Homer off of Zac Cowan to give Texas A&M a 6-4 lead.

In the 9th inning, Jay Johnson brought a pinch hitter in for Luis Hernandez which was a curious decision but, the Tigers were unable to reach base dropping a series they appeared poised to win.

The Tigers' offense wasn't great this weekend, scoring just 7 runs across 27 Innings, which is a massive reason for the Series loss. In this game, Texas A&M got to Zac Cowan after knocking him out of Game 1, and now there's some concern about LSU's most trusted reliever and how he'll bounce back. The loss will hurt LSU's chances of winning the SEC Regular season crown but, the biggest concern is now staying in the Top 4 to earn a double bye in the SEC Tournament.
