For the second time this season, the LSU Baseball team has dropped a series as the Tigers lost to Auburn 4-2 on Saturday Night. LSU's bullpen was dominant, and Anthony Eyanson gave the Tigers a chance to win but, the offense couldn't get enough going for the Tigers to win this game. While dropping the series hurts LSU, the Tigers will still have plenty of chances to string together dominant weekends to make up for the losses.

The LSU Baseball team was able to get the scoring started in this game as Steven Milam hit a solo shot over the wall in left to give LSU a 1-0 lead.

The play of the day came in the third inning for LSU as Derek Curiel made a SportsCenter Top 10 play robbing a Home Run to keep LSU ahead of Auburn.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Auburn Tigers finally got to Anthony Eyanson, driving in a pair of runs. The inning started off with a double to left field, Anthony Eyanson then recorded a strikeout before Auburn drove in two runs with another two doubles one to left center and one to centerfield.

In the 5th inning, Anthony Eyanson allowed another pair to score as he allowed a 2 out, 2 RBI Home Run to centerfield giving Auburn a 4-1 lead. After Eyanson's day came to an end, LSU was able to get three scoreless innings of relief out of Conner Ware, Connor Benge, and DJ Primeaux as the trio allowed just one hit and one walk.

The issue for LSU was that once again the offense wasn't able to come through with the Tigers only scoring once more in this game. Josh Pearson, Steven Milam, and Tanner Reaves strung together three hits in a row to make it a 4-2 game but, the Tigers stranded a pair and wouldn't get a better chance the rest of the game.

Through three games this week, the LSU Baseball team has only scored 11 runs and just 6 runs in this series this weekend. LSU's pitching staff hasn't had a dominant weekend but, they've given LSU a chance to win both games which makes it disappointing that the Tigers are 0-2 on the weekend. On Sunday, the offense needs to find a way to bounce back in the series finale to at least leave the weekend with a win.

The good news for LSU is that the Tigers head into Sunday with Chase Shores on the mound along with both Zac Cowan and Casan Evans available out of the bullpen to salvage the weekend.
