After a 4-0 week, the LSU Baseball team kicked off their quest for another 4-0 week as the Tigers hosted the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. The Tigers sent William Schmidt to the mound which came as a surprise given that Jaden Noot was the starter the last two weekday games and picked up the win in both games.

The good news for the LSU Tigers is that after William Schmidt posted a scoreless first inning, the Tigers offense got to work quickly. Daniel Dickinson got the scoring started with an RBI double that brought home Derek Curiel. Ethan Frey then hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield bringing home Jared Jones to give LSU a 2-0 lead. Freshman Cade Arrambide then, stepped up with a massive 2 RBI single to give LSU a 4-0 lead.

In the top of the second, Louisiana Tech got a run back hitting a solo home run off of William Schmidt. Jared Jones would almost instantly get LSU its four run lead back blasting a home run over the bleachers in left field.

The scoring on both sides then went quiet until the 5th inning when Ethan Frey blasted a home run off of the pitch clock in centerfield.

In the top of the 7th inning, Louisiana Tech drew a run closer with their second solo Home Run of the game. The bad news for Louisiana Tech was that it was the closest the Bulldogs would get in this game.

The Tigers loaded the bases for Ethan Frey, who'd drive a run home with a dunk single into centerfield. Steven Milam singled to right field, driving in Jared Jones, before sacrifice flies by John Pearson and Cade Arrambide drove in the third and fourth runs of the inning.

In the 8th inning, Louisiana Tech would crowd the bases scoring a run on a fielders choice. LSU would however push across another pair in the bottom half of the inning on a wild pitch and an Ethan Frey double to right center.

Chandler Dorsey got the final two outs for the Tigers giving LSU its fifth win in a row heading into a massive weekend against Oklahoma.

The Tigers offense in the 7th was the perfect example of what Jay Johnson wanted to build as the Tigers perfectly showed the timely hitting, station to station style which is a polar opposite from last season where the Tigers lived and died by the home run.

Ethan Frey is the perfect example of how deep this team is as he went 3-4 with 4 RBIs improving his season batting average to .404 yet, he's not an everyday starter as this team is loaded in the outfield. Cade Arrambide continues to develop and in this game the way he put the ball in play was impressive driving in three runs.

This game gave Jay Johnson another chance to get his young pitchers some experience as they battle for time in the bullpen. Cooper Williams had an impressive outing pitching two scoreless innings but, he allowed a hit and walked two batters. Mavrick Rizy and Conner Benge continue to impress but, finding the consistency will be key.
