The LSU Baseball team went all out to win their SEC Tournament opener on Friday Night using Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson to beat Texas A&M. Heading into Saturday's matchup against Ole Miss, the question for LSU is how the Tigers would be able to piece together their pitching to give the team a shot in this game.

Jaden Noot started for the Tigers and turned in 4 innings in his first SEC start, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and a pair of walks while striking out 7. Chase Shores came on next and turned in 2.2 scoreless innings, helping keep the Tigers in this game. Jacob Mayers got the Tigers through the final 2.1 innings without allowing the Rebels to reach base. The Tigers' pitching staff holding Ole Miss to just 2 runs gave the Tigers a great chance to advance to the SEC Tournament Championship game.

The problem for the LSU Baseball team was that the offense couldn't get anything going against Ole Miss. The Rebels' starter, Cade Townsend, entered the game with a 6.67 ERA, yet he turned in 4.2 scoreless innings to start the game, allowing just 2 hits. Things didn't get better when the Tigers got into Ole Miss' bullpen, as the Tigers failed to record a hit over the final 4.1 innings, working just two walks.

The Tigers' performance on Saturday was a season low in several areas for the LSU Baseball team's offense. On Saturday, LSU set a season low in hits with just a pair of singles passing the previous season low of 4 hits in a game. The Tigers offense has now gone 14 straight innings without scoring a run which is the longest stretch of the season.

When you look at what the Tigers offense did in Hoover its not a surprise that LSU dropped this game. Jared Jones, Daniel Dickinson, Jake Brown, and Michael Braswell III all went hitless while playing in both games. Derke Curiel, Steven Milam, and Chris Stanfield all only managed 1 hit this weekend as the offense never found a rhythm.

LSU now turns its attention toward the NCAA Tournament as they'll almost definitely find out on Sunday that they're a National seed before the bracket is revealed on Monday. The Tigers best path toward returning to Omaha is the fact that the Tigers have a pair of aces in Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson. The concern is the fact that the offense hasn't been as productive as LSU fans would hope for which makes this team vulnerable in the NCAA Tournament.
