Last week was far from the LSU Baseball team's best showing as the Tigers end the week going 1-3 with a sweep in SEC play. The week started with LSU coming alive late to beat the Nicholls State Colonels and while the game was too close for comfort, it was atleast a win which gave LSU fans hope heading into another massive weekend series.
The weekend was a nightmare for the LSU Baseball team as the Tigers saw each winnable game slip away. On Friday Night, Kade Anderson had his first rocky start of the year which saw LSU lose 8-4. The bad news for the Tigers was that the team would combine for four runs the rest of the weekend losing 4-2 on Saturday and 4-2 on Sunday both of which were games LSU could've won.
After dropping 3 of 4 games on the week, the LSU Baseball team was always going to take a significant fall in the Top 25 Baseball rankings and D1Baseball did just that nearly dropping LSU out of the Top 10.

The Tigers fall 6 spots in the rankings falling from the 3rd ranked team in the Country all the way down to 9th. The SEC remains the deepest and most talented league in the Country with 4 of the Nation's Top 5, 6 of the Top 10, 8 of the Top 15, and 10 of the Top 20 teams.
The bad news for the LSU Baseball team is that this weekend is a setback toward the Tigers goals of winning the SEC Regular Season crown and it makes the next few weeks important as LSU strives to host a Regional and a Super Regional. The good news for LSU Baseball is that the Tigers are right back to playing massive games as the Tigers face off against the 15th Ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.
