Last week was a massive week for the LSU Baseball team as the Tigers hosted the Tennessee Volunteers in a crucial SEC matchup. If LSU fans were told they'd go 2-2 on the week most would assume the Tigers dropped the series yet, it was the first midweek loss of the season that tripped the LSU Baseball team up.

As the end of the regular season approaches, tracking the National Rankings is starting to become important as teams start to jockey for seeding ahead of the NCAA Tournament. Picking up a series win over Tennessee was massive for the LSU Baseball team as it gives LSU a massive win for their National Rankings while also helping LSU move closer to landing a top-4 seed in the SEC Tournament which would give the Tigers a crucial double bye in the tournament.

After a massive weekend, the LSU Baseball team is on the rise in both the D1Baseball Top 25 and Baseball America's Top 25.

Before last week, D1Baseball viewed LSU Baseball as the 7th best team in the Country. After LSU's winning week and the chaotic week for teams ranked ahead of the Tigers, LSU Baseball is flying up the rankings as the 2nd best team in the Country now.

Coming into the week, Baseball America held LSU Baseball in the highest regard ranking the Tigers as the 4th best team in the Country. After taking 2 of 3 games against Tennessee, the LSU Tigers are moving all the way up to the 2nd best team trailing Texas.

The week ahead won't give LSU Baseball a massive chance to surpass the Texas Longhorns barring a disater for Texas. The Tigers will face off against Southeastern Louisiana before heading to College Station to faceoff against Texas A&M in a three game set.
