When the brackets were set, LSU was ranked as the 6th overall seed meaning that the Tigers will host a Super Regional. The ranking marks the 12th time in program history that the Tigers are a Top 8 seed.
While the LSU Baseball team has the path to hosting a Super Regional, the Tigers will still need to play their way to that point. Winning the opening weekend at home will give the Tigers a second weekend in Alex Box but, winning a Regional is far from a guarantee.
In order to play a second weekend, LSU will need to handle business against Dallas Baptist U, Rhode Island, and Little Rock. Earlier this season, LSU faced off against Dallas Baptist and won in a standalone game but, both teams have drastically changed.
The top 4 National Seeds were SEC teams with the Conference with 6 of the 8 National seeds coming from the SEC. While LSU ranked outside of the Top 8 in the RPI Rankings, the sheer talent of the teams that LSU faced this season couldn't be ignored.
The Tigers have the talent to win the NCAA Tournament, the question is if the team can put it all together over the next few weeks. In Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson, the Tigers have two of the best starters in the Country which gives you every chance to win it all. The offense is where the team is going to need to find it's rhythm as the offense has the ability to beat any team in the Country but, has struggled as of late.
