Often times during NFL Broadcasts, you'd hear about how Antonio Gates played College Basketball while the same would be said for Mo Alie-Cox, Jimmy Graham, Tony Gonzalez, and Julius Thomas. Tight Ends make great Basketball players as their size and athleticism easily translates to both sports but, at the end of the day they're better off as tight ends.

LSU Tight End Trey'Dez Green is embarking on the same journey and against Alabama on Saturday the Freshman Tight End got his first bit of playing time on the hard wood. In the game against Alabama, Trey'Dez Green played 9 minutes for the Tigers scoring two points, grabbing three rebounds, and blocked a shot.

In one play, Trey'Dez Green flashed the athleticism we saw during the Texas Bowl, blocking Alabama's Chris Youngblood on a three, grabbing the rebound, and then beating Chris Youngblood to the Basket before putting him on a poster.

"I have such respect for what he's doing. He's been a very quick learner. He wants to be really good. He's a great teammate. He brings tremendous energy to practice."

Trey'Dez Green spent his first eight months with the Basketball team practicing and playing in a helmet and shoulder pads which meant there was always going to be time for him to learn before he got onto the court.

The LSU Basketball team however, is searching for answers amid a 1-5 start to SEC Play which has knocked the Tigers to the outside looking in when it comes to the NCAA Tournament. Trey'Dez Green can be a solution for LSU especially as they prepare to face off against the Nation's Top seeded Auburn Tigers.

The opponents have little to no tape on Trey'Dez Green which makes him impossible to prepare for ahead of the game. Green has the size and the athletic ability to guard multiple positions and throwing him on an opposing team's best player could be disruptive even if Green gets himself into foul trouble. The loss of Jalen Reed for the season has LSU searching for size and Green's size and intensity is a positive for this team.
