LSU Basketball finds its offense in the second half to beat Northwestern State
The LSU Basketball team returned from West Virginia and a short Thanksgiving Break to host the Northwestern State Demons. The Tigers clearly showed their rust early on in this game as it was a struggle with LSU scoring just 25 points in the first half trailing the Demons 26-25 at Half.
In the second half, LSU found its offense and dominant play on the defensive end allowed LSU to quickly turn the game around. The Tigers rallied around great three point shooting from Jordan Sears to score 52 points in the second half winning this game 77 to 53.
This team continues to be led by great play by Jordan Sears and Cam Carter on the offensive end while Vyctorius Miller and Jalen Reed have chipped in in a big way. Sears led the Tigers with 18 points all of which came on three point shots as he made 6 of 11 three point attempts while grabbing five rebounds.
Cam Carter was right behind him giving the Tigers 15 points making 5 of 13 shots while chipping in a pair of steals on the defensive end. Jalen Reed and Vyctorius Miller continue to give LSU massive contributions each scoring 11 points.
The biggest concern for LSU right now is the lack of contributions from players outside of Sears, Carter, Reed, and Miller. Corey Chest gave the Tigers nine points but, the rest of the team was held to five or less points. Ideally, LSU needs to find another player or two that can give this team a spark off the bench so they don't need to rely so heavily on the starters.
The Tigers now sit at 6-1 heading into next week when they'll have a Power Four test against 7-1 Florida State in the SEC/ACC Championship.
