The transfer portal has been a roller coaster ride for the LSU Basketball team as the Tigers have gone in waves for the first few weeks. The first week of the transfer portal saw LSU only lose transfers as it seemed that player after player left the program. The second week saw the Tigers catch fire as LSU brought in five transfers headlined by an elite point guard that can lead the program. This past week was quiet for LSU as the early frenzy slowed while the staff was likely making further evaluations.
After a slower week on the transfer portal front, the LSU Tigers appear to be getting back into the swing of hosting transfers.

Dan Skillings Jr is coming off his Junior season at Cincinnati, averaging 9.2 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, 1.5 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game, and shot 44.0% from the field. The downside for the LSU Basketball team if they land Skillings Jr is that he's a career 28.1% three-point shooter, which won't help with LSU's shooting issues.
Where there's a ton of upside for the LSU Basketball team is that Dan Skillings Jr is 6-foot-6 with a 7-foot-2 wingspan. This offseason, LSU has clearly made adding guards with size a priority with the additions of Rashad King and Max Mackinnon on the wing. Adding guards and wings with size is a need for LSU after the Tigers were at a size disadvantage in almost every game last season.
If LSU can land Skillings Jr, he can be a solid piece off of the bench for the Tigers on both ends of the court. Where Skillings will need to take a next step is as a shooter as will some of LSU's other pieces because the Tigers need to raise their game on the offense.
