The Early Signing Period came and went for Matt McMahon and the LSU Basketball Program as the Tigers nabbed three top 75 recruits all of which signed on to play. The class felt incomplete however as LSU was hoping to keep New Orleans Native Chris Cenac at home.

The Tigers had to battle with six other major programs including Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Houston and in the end, Chris Cenac chose Houston.

According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Cenac is the 7th ranked player in the Nation, the 4th ranked Power Forward, and the Top Ranked player out of Missouri where he plays at Link Academy.

The Tigers already have three top 75 recruits Mazi Mosley (64th Ranked), Jalen Reece (72nd Ranked), and Matt Gilhool (73rd Ranked) signed in LSU's recruiting class. Given that Early Signing Period has already passed, Cenac can't sign with Houston until the Spring which gives McMahon and the program plenty of time to work on a flip.

If LSU is going to flip Chris Cenac from Power House Houston, it'll need to prove a few things over the next months. The Tigers have shown improvement on the court but, they'll need to continue the positive momentum showing Cenac they're a great fit.

As LSU Football saw in the recruitment of Bryce Underwood, money talks and even if you have to overpay to keep a top commit at home that isn't a bad thing. The Cougars have been impressive in the NIL front but, if the Tigers can ramp up their efforts to get to where Houston is this can become a much tougher decision.

If the Tigers aren't able to nab Chris Cenac this is still an impressive class for Matt McMahon and we'll likely see him dive into the transfer portal to further build upon it.
