Riding high off of a two game winning streak, the LSU Basketball team was looking for its biggest win of the season as they faced off against the 2nd ranked Florida Gators. The Tigers lack of size inside haunted them in this game and while the final score reads 79-65 the game was much closer as LSU had a great chance to steal this game.

Early on in the game it looked like Florida may run away with the game as LSU couldn't stop the Gators inside while the Tigers shots weren't falling. Great defense helped out the offense as LSU went on an 11-0 run to cut the lead to a single possession before taking the lead following a Florida timeout. The Tigers went on a 22-2 run to end the first half after getting down as many as 14 to take a 6 point lead into the half.

In the second half, the Florida Gators came back to where they found the most success attacking LSU on the interior taking back the lead. The Tigers had every chance down the stretch to make this game close but, missed layups and turnovers allowed Florida to make it a ten point game with just over four minutes to play. The Gators were able to go on a 14-0 run during the final five minutes of the game which sunk LSU.

The difference in this game was the difference in size as LSU couldn't keep the Gators off of the glass and they couldn't slow them in the paint. The Gators outrebounded LSU by 15 while scoring 44 points in the paint to LSU's 24.

Robert Miller was the star of the game for LSU scoring a career high 19 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Mike Williams was second in scoring for the Tigers scoring 10 points and should continue to play down the stretch.

The Tigers veteran group of Cam Carter, Jordan Sears, and Dji Bailey couldn't get anything going in this game combining for 12 points on 19 attempts.

The Tigers won't have to wait long for their next massive matchup as next on schedule are the 6th ranked Tennessee Volunteers.
