We're now officially one week into the College Basketball transfer cycle, as it opened last week on Monday, leading to over 1,000 basketball players looking for new schools. The LSU Basketball team has only seen the negative effects of the transfer portal, as Vyctorius Miller, Mike Williams III, Tyrell Ward, Corey Chest, and Noah Boyde entered the transfer portal.
Heading into the offseason, this was viewed as a pivotal transfer portal cycle for the program and for Matt McMahon, as LSU is going to further invest in McMahon and the program on the NIL front. Through the first week, LSU hasn't landed any commitments, but, the Tigers have shown interest in several of the top transfers.
LSU is going to get its first pitch at a transfer on Tuesday, as UCF transfer guard Keyshawn Hall has set up a Zoom call with LSU.

Winning the battle for Keyshawn Hall will be incredibly difficult for Matt McMahon and his staff, as Hall has already had a Zoom call with Kansas, while Auburn and Kentucky will pitch Hall on Monday before LSU's staff gets their turn. While it'll be a difficult field to win out in it won't be impossible, especially as this is why LSU further invested in its basketball program using NIL.
This season, Keyshawn Hall averaged 18.8 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game, 2.4 assists per game, and shot 42.7% from the field and 35.4% from three. LSU got a first hand look at Hall's game when the two faced off in November, where Hall scored 21 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.
Hall is a 6-foot-7 guard, which is attractive as Hall will have the size to switch onto most players defensively, which is massive in a league as talented as the SEC. As the Tigers lose 4 of their 5 leading scorers, Hall is the perfect fit because he can lead the offense in scoring, as LSU will return talent at forward.
It'll be interesting to see if LSU can make a serious push for Hall as it'll tell us a ton about where LSU is viewed and if the NIL improvements make a difference.
